I began my journey into medicine as a child when I was always rescuing animals and “nursing” them back to health. I worked as a trail guide riding horses and eventually became a veterinary technician. I was a very young mother and faced many adversities growing up with a little one at my side through my teen years. I had to grow up very quickly. I was fighting my way through life and determined not to become another teen mom statistic. While raising my son as a young single mom and working in veterinary medicine, I met my husband. Along with my son, we started a bigger family together. I decided to go to nursing school so that I could help other young women like me know that they were not alone. I worked in L&D/postpartum and also became a lactation consultant. I enjoyed teaching mothers all about childbirth and breastfeeding. I went on to graduate school and worked as a family nurse practitioner. I spent many years in pediatrics before deciding that mental health is the area with the highest need. A large majority of my pediatric patients were struggling with mental health and suicidal thoughts. Tragically in the midst of the pandemic, one of my kids lost a very dear friend to suicide. I knew it was time to make the move. So here I am! I am here to help you or your loved one, I want you to know you are not alone…..YOU MATTER! Along with this practice, I also work at the community college teaching nursing students about psychiatric mental health. I love to educate students about how mental health is just as important (if not more important) as someone’s physical health. My mission is to fight the stigma surrounding mental health and make finding help easier. Thank you for coming to our website and exploring, I hope I can be a great resource and I look forward to getting to know you!

I see veterinary professionals at a reduced rate if uninsured or low income.

If you have a teen that is struggling and are not sure how to help………please reach out! I have been there as a mom, sometimes our kids need support from someone who is not a parent. I work hard to provide not only psychiatric medication management, but also psychotherapy, mentorship, and guidance. With my background in higher education, I can help teens and young adults explore education and career options.

In my spare time, I love to be outdoors! I have beautiful and spunky dogs that love going on adventures! I love to spend time with my 4 (almost all grown) kids and husband. I love all things vintage, and often relieve stress hunting for nostalgia at antique and thrift stores!
